Chicanukkah: Latino-Jewish Chanukah Celebration Recap

Chicanukkah: Latino-Jewish Chanukah Celebration Recap

Close to 500 people, including elected officials, community leaders, and Houstonians from diverse backgrounds, came together to celebrate this year’s annual Chicanukkah Festivities – featured on Fox 26. The event was hosted in partnership with the Center for Latino-Jewish Relations; Anti-Defamation League (ADL), American Jewish Committee (AJC), Congregation Beth Yeshurun, Holocaust Museum Houston, Texas Shomrim, and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). Guests enjoyed music by Mariachi Del Bosque, winner of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Mariachi Invitational, along with great food, ambiance, and meaningful connection across communities.

Founded by Jacob Monty and Rabbi Peter Tarlow of the Center for Latino-Jewish Relations, Chicanukkah is a festive evening that brings together communities to highlight shared values, faiths, and cultures. Programs like this aim to grow and strengthen our interfaith and multicultural relationships.
