The 80th Birthday of Rabbi Peter Tarlow
The 80th Birthday of Rabbi Peter Tarlow
CLJR celebrated our co-founder’s 80th birthday with a wonderful musical presentation by members of the renown Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, conducted by Dr. Noreen Green, Founding Artistic Director & Conductor. A colorful feast of birthday treats were also featured.
A crowd of well-wishers turned out this past May 3, 2026 at Congregation Beth Yeshurun in Houston to share in the celebration honoring Rabbi Peter Tarlow.

Here’s a short video clip of part of the musical presentation. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did live in Houston.
From Joanna Robertson
Honored to celebrate a remarkable life and legacy this month.
As Chairman of the Center for Latino-Jewish Relations, it was a privilege to host the 80th birthday celebration of Rabbi Peter Tarlow at Congregation Beth Yeshurun – a meaningful evening that brought together leaders, families, and communities united by shared values and history.
Rabbi Tarlow has dedicated decades to strengthening the bridge between the Latino and Jewish communities – work that has had a lasting impact not only in Houston, but across the United States and internationally.
The evening was made even more special with a beautiful performance by members of the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony – violins of hope. It was a gathering of friends and supporters who believe deeply in the mission of building connection across cultures.
Each year, I travel with Rabbi Tarlow to Israel bringing groups of Latino leaders to experience firsthand the history, complexity, and importance of these relationships. Those trips – and this organization – are a testament to the power of dialogue, education, and shared experiences.
Happy 80th birthday, Rabbi Tarlow. Thank you for your leadership, your friendship, and your unwavering commitment to bringing people together. Viva Israel!
Special Thanks !!
